Level transmitter is type of a measurement instrument that provides continuous level measurement for liquid media inside an enclosed vessel or storage tanks Unlike level switch which detects only for designated level such as high or low, level transmitter continuously measure and transmit the obtained measurement to be displayed in digital display or be given to BAS, PLC, analog meter and etc. Level Transmitter works on float principle with magnetic transmission (Permanent magnet, reed switch and resistance chain) in a three wire potentiometer circuit. When the float moves up or down concurrent with the liquid, the permanent magnet inside the float with its magnetic field will actuate the reed switch inside the guide tube. These reed switch off an uninterrupted measurement voltage from resistance chain (potential divider) and this voltage is proportional to the liquid level.
